A few years ago, I was fresh out of university and in a low place mentally.

I was trying to figure out my future while wondering whether my locs were going to hold me back in the real world.
I spent hours online searching for advice about confidence, corporate jobs and loc care. But most of what I found made me feel worse.
The messaging made my locs feel like a liability instead of something to be proud of.

I absorbed every doubt, constantly chased neatness and questioned whether wearing my hair this way would affect the opportunities available to me.

Over time, I learned the truth.
Locs are never just about hair. The journey forces you to confront self doubt, impatience and the need for outside approval.
